Who it's for

Thank yous that pile up fast

When there are a lot of notes to write, the temptation is to print them. Printed thank yous read as printed. These don't.

Wedding thank yous

Work through the guest list at your own pace. Save everyone as a contact once, then send each note individually — written in real ink, addressed and mailed for you.

  • Saved contacts and addresses
  • One card at a time, written individually
  • Send as gifts arrive

Graduation thank yous

Relatives who sent a check, the teacher who wrote the recommendation, the neighbor who showed up. A handwritten note lands differently than a group text.

  • Warm, age-appropriate drafts
  • Save family addresses once
  • Great for grad-gift follow-ups

Gift & hospitality thank yous

Housewarming presents, dinner parties, a friend who watched the dog. Small gestures deserve something better than an emoji.

  • Same-week send
  • Hundreds of card designs
  • Add a gift card if you like

Why it doesn't look printed

A real pen actually touches the paper

Most "handwritten-style" thank you cards are inkjet prints of a handwriting font. Up close, the letters are flat and every one is identical. Notably uses a machine that grips a real ballpoint and draws each stroke — so the ink pools slightly at the turns, the pressure varies, and you can feel the indentation on the back of the page.

  • Ballpoint ink on heavy card stock — not toner
  • Envelope addressed in the same hand, with a real stamp
  • Choose from a range of handwriting styles

Thank you card questions

Are these actually handwritten?

Yes. A machine holds a real ballpoint pen and writes your message on a real card, so the ink sits on the page with genuine indentation. It is not a printed font.

Can I send thank you notes to a whole guest list?

Yes. You save each person as a contact, then send their card individually. Every note is written and addressed for that person specifically — that's what makes it feel like you sat down and wrote it yourself.

How long does a thank you card take to arrive?

Cards are written and dropped in the mail within a couple of business days, then travel first class — typically 3–5 business days door to door in the US.

Do I have to write the message myself?

Only if you want to. Notably can draft a warm thank you from a few details — the gift, the occasion, your relationship — and you can edit every word before it's written.
